The Region A North Georgia Healthcare Coalition is strengthening emergency preparedness through the placement of decontamination equipment and training focused on access and functional needs.
An enclosed, inflatable decontamination tent featuring three stations and 12 spray heads has been placed in Fannin County. This brings Region A’s total to three tents, with the others located in Pickens and Whitfield counties. Having equipment positioned across the region helps public safety personnel access these resources more quickly during an emergency.
The accompanying photos show the Fannin County tent and an Access and Functional Needs training class held in Murray and Whitfield counties. The training supports preparedness for assisting community members with a range of needs during emergencies.
The training is part of the Northwest Georgia Multi-District Alliance, which includes public health Districts 1-1, 1-2, and 4. Together, these equipment and training efforts help strengthen the region’s ability to respond to emergencies and serve its communities.
